Privacy policy

SortSentry organizes files locally on your Windows PC. The app does not upload file names or file contents to WD DIGI.

Information the app processes

SortSentry reads file names, extensions, sizes, modification dates, and the folders you select. For safe undo, it reads file bytes to calculate a SHA-256 fingerprint. It uses this information to evaluate your rules, preview destinations, perform file operations, and check whether an organized file has changed.

Local storage

The app stores your rules, settings, selected folder paths, operation paths, file fingerprints, and activity journal in its local data folder. Quarantined files also remain in local app storage. Preview does not change files in your selected folders.

Removing a watched folder stops its monitoring without deleting its contents. Undo depends on the recorded file remaining available and unchanged, with the original path free. Restore quarantined files before uninstalling: uninstalling may remove local app data, quarantined files, and undo history.

Purchases and Windows services

Microsoft Store processes Pro purchases and license checks under the Microsoft privacy statement. SortSentry receives entitlement and product pricing information, not payment-card details. Windows and the Windows App SDK may process diagnostics according to their settings and Microsoft’s terms.

Analytics and accounts

SortSentry has no WD DIGI account system, advertising, third-party analytics SDK, or cloud file processing. The app does not send file metadata or fingerprints to WD DIGI.

This website and support

Cloudflare hosts this website and processes connection information such as IP address and requested URL to deliver and protect it, under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We do not add analytics scripts, advertising trackers, or cookies to this site.

If you email support, WD DIGI receives your email address and the information you choose to send. We use it to reply and investigate your request. Do not send private documents or payment-card details. You can request deletion of support correspondence by emailing us.

Your choices

You can pause monitoring, turn preview on, remove watched folders, disable Windows startup, or quit from the system tray. Local settings and the journal are visible through the app’s data folder in Settings. Restore quarantined files before removing app data.
